"Exporting of favorites has been disabled on this machine" error using Import Export Wizard in Internet Explorer

This site will look much better in a browser that supports web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.

"Exporting of favorites has been disabled on this machine" error using Import Export Wizard in Internet Explorer

When you choose the Import and Export option under File menu in Internet Explorer, you may receive this error message:

Exporting of favorites has been disabled on this machine

This happens if the restriction DisableImportExportFavorites is enabled in the registry.

Click Start/Run and type REGEDIT
Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows
\ CurrentVersion \Policies \ Explorer

Backup the registry key to a REG file. See here for more information.
In the right-pane, delete DisableImportExportFavorites
Close Registry Editor.
